Bataclan! was born of a musical encounter between the bandoneon, the harpsichord and the bassoon that is as unlikely as it is surprising. Catherine Perrin, (harpsichord), Denis Plante (bandoneon), and Matthieu Lussier (bassoon), have compiled the musical “baggage” of their imagined journey across the Americas, resulting in a Latin-American flavoured tapestry of fantasies, rhapsodies, tangos and folk pieces. In addition to compositions and arrangements by Lussier and Plante, the iconic Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla is well represented on Bataclan!, along with Villa-Lobos, Heitor Ayala and Eduardo Falu.
