Constantinople: Musique du Moyen Âge et de la Renaissance

The Constantinople ensemble rekindles the spirit of cultural confluence that existed when its namesake, the legendary city, was the crossroads of East and West. For this first CD, Constantinople approaches the music of the Middle Ages and of the Renaissance based on an original re-interpretation of the musical manuscripts that have come down to us. Hence, the group creates instrumental arrangements of all the pieces and strives to recapture certain aspects of the performance practice and colours of Iranian art music.
