Having been unanimously accorded a First Prize at the Quebec Conservatory of Music in Montreal in 1994, David Veilleux then had the privilege of perfecting his art with James Campbell and Alfred Prinz at Indiana University, Bloomington.
Widely sought after as a chamber musician, he has notably performed at the Festival International de Lanaudière, at the Montreal Chamber Music Festival alongside James Campbell and in recital throughout Quebec. David Veilleux has been heard as soloist with orchestra in Montreal, Chicoutimi, and at Bloomington. Several of his performances have been broadcast on the Radio-Canada and CBC networks, including his National Arts debut recital in Ottawa, in 1997.
In 1994, Mr. Veilleux on second prize at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra competition. His remarkable virtuosity has been hailed by Montreal music critic François Tousignant from
Le Devoir<\0x252Fi> newspaper. David Veilleux is currently principal clarinet of the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal and also plays in the Orchestre Métropolitain and in most Quebec professional ensembles. David Veilleux is a Yamaha Artist.
