André Ristic has received commissions from the TUYO percussion ensemble, the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal, pianist Marc Couroux, and Trio Fibonacci, and grants from the Canada Council and the Quebec Arts Council. Born in Quebec, Ristic holds degrees from the University of Québec and the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. A founding member of Trio Fibonacci, and pianist for Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal, he has performed and toured in Europe and South America.
Ristic has written for a variety of genres, including film music, and new works for ECM, SMCQ, Trio Fibonacci, Gabriel Prynn (cello), Ensemble Alizé, Karoline Leblanc (harpsichord), Ensemble TUYO, and l'orchestre de l'AOJQ. His recent compositional research involves video synchronization by algorithmic statistical analysis of audionumeric data.
