Jean Ladouceur began his musical studies at the age of nine in his native Sherbrooke. From 1968-70, he attended the Collège de Saint-Laurent, studying the organ and piano with François Aubut and Yolanda Bellomia, respectively. During this time he was also the organist for Sherbrooke's Saint-Michel Basilica-Cathedral.
Mr Ladouceur entered the University of Montreal in 1972, in Denis Regnaud's organ and harpsichord classes.
In 1980 he became organist for the %22Holy Family Church%22 in Montreal and, later, for the parish of Saint Peter the Apostle, also in Montreal.
Mr Ladouceur taught for a year in Gaspésie, and continues to perfect his playing, notably under the guidance of Pierre Pincemaille, who is titular organist of the Saint-Denis Basilica in Paris.
