Violinist François Pilon has played many kinds of music with a wide variety of groups. In the past 10 years, he has been performing on stage, on tour in Argentina, Uruguay, the United States, France, and Germany, and in recording studios with the Romulo Larrea Tango Ensemble.
From 1993 to 2002 he was assistant first violinist with Montreal’s Ensemble Amati. Since 2010, he has been touring with tenor Marc Hervieux. In recent years he has contributed, either as performer or producer, to many recording sessions of film and television music, and for CD projects with various artists. With Alain Trudel he is the artistic co-director of the band Le Kiosque à Musique. He is involved as musician, teacher, and administrator with Les Petits Violons, a music school, and is artistic co-director of the Ensemble Jean Cousineau.
