The McGill Chamber Orchestra is one of the most well-established orchestras in Canada. For more than 70 years, the Orchestra has regularly featured some of the greatest solo artists in the world such asYo-Yo Ma, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Itzhak Perlman, Yehudi Menuhin, and Mstislav Rostropovich within its regular season of concerts in Montreal. The MCO has toured to seventeen countries on five continents, appeared on television, and recorded extensively. The orchestra is led by Boris Brott, eldest son of Alexander and Lotte, who joined the ensemble as Associate Conductor in 1989. He spearheaded new projects in community out reach and education and regularly shared concerts with his father. In 1999, he was appointed Joint Conductor of the orches-tra and in 2005 Boris succeeded his father as Artistic Director. Under his dynamic direction, the MCO has reinvented itself into a vibrant ensemble of Montreal’s finest young professional musicians.
