The young French soprano, Julie Fuchs received both a theatrical and a musical apprenticeship in Avignon and at the CNSM in Paris (1st prizes in voice and violin). A prize-winner at the Concours de Paris in 2009, she won the prix Gabriel-Dussurget at the Aix-en-Provence festival where she sang Galatea (Handel’s Acis and Galatea). In 2012 she was named Revelation of the Year at the Victoire de la Muique Classique in France. She has performed widely in France most notably at l’Opéra-Comique, the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, l’Opéra Royal de Versailles as well as at La Fenice in Venice. In concert and on record, she has sung under the direction of, among others, Louis Langrée, Jérémie Rhorer, Jean-Claude Magloire, Hervé Niquet, François-Xavier Roth, Laurence Equilbey and Christophe Rousset. In recital she performs regularly with the pianist Alphonse Cemin and will join the prestigious Zurich Opera in 2013-14.
