At once energetic and passionate, Marianne Trudel pursues a very active career as pianist, composer, improviser, and arranger. Giving solo recitals and performing in ensembles, she has presented concerts in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Germany, Spain, and France. Her lyrical, surprising, and poetic work testifies to her open approach to the infinite world of music. Her six recordings, all of which have garnered rave reviews, include La vie commence ici (Marianne Trudel 4 + Ingrid Jensen), which was nominated for a 2015 Juno Award, and Le Refuge (Trifolia), which won the 2013 Opus prize for jazz disc of the year and was nominated for a Juno Award in 2014. A recipient of numerous prizes and honors, her many projects demonstrate her heightened sense of creativity Marianne Trudel is also one of the founders of the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal.
