Myriam Farid & Olivier Godin

, piano

Duo-pianists Myriam Farid and Olivier Godin met more than 20 years ago, when they were both students at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, and have been performing together regularly since then. They have recorded the complete works of Sergei Rachmaninoff for two pianos (Société métroplitaine du disque / XXI-21), and performed these works many times in concert. They have also played piano four hands in recitals in Montreal, Brussels, and Germany. They performed Dmitri Shostakovich’s fifth symphony in the composer’s four-hand version, accompanied by texts and extracts from letters read by the actress Isabel Karajan (daughter of the celebrated conductor), for the Johannes Wasmuth Gesellschaft in Germany.
Both Myriam and Olivier are in demand as chamber players, but they get together as often as possible to play as a piano duo or piano four-hands. Myriam Farid lives in Germany. She has been a guest artist at many festivals including those at Lugano (Progetto Argerich), Clef de Soleil (Lille), and Mons.
Olivier Godin teaches at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and directs its Atelier d'opéra. He performs regularly in America and in Europe with world-renowned singers.   |
