Krisztina Szabó is highly sought after as an artist of supreme musicianship and stagecraft. Ms. Szabó has performed extensively in North America and Europe, such as the title role in Cenerentola (Rossini), Idamante in Idomeneo (Mozart), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (Mozart), Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos (Strauss), Musetta in La Bohème (Puccini), Nerone in Agrippina (Handel), The Woman in Erwartung (Schoenberg), Judith in Bluebeard’s Castle (Bartók) and The Pilgrim in L’Amour de Loin (Saariaho). She is also a frequent performer of recital, concert, and chamber music repertoire.
She has a passion and commitment to the performance of contemporary music, particularly Canadian works, and has worked closely with many prominent Canadian composers. She has performed and premiered many new works in Canada and abroad. As well as her busy performance schedule, Krisztina Szabó is also a Professor of Voice Studies at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music.
