Baroque cellist Amanda Keesmaat records and performs regularly with Arion Baroque Orchestra, Les Idées Heureuses, La Nef, Clavecin en Concert, Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montreal (SMAM) and Dan Taylor’s Theatre of Early Music. She is a member of Montreal’s new classical orchestra “L’Orchestre Symphonique de la Vallée-du-Haut-St-Laurent”. Recent highlights include playing continuo for the Juno Award winning cd “Vivaldi et ses Anges” with Ensemble Caprice, Félix winning cd “La Traverse Miraculeuse” with La Nef and Les Charbonniers de l’Enfer, touring with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra across British Columbia and emergency pinch-hitting for Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin in Ottawa and Montreal. Amanda plays chamber music concerts regularly at The Festival of Music and Sound, Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, Montreal Baroque, Festival Vancouver, Sackville Early Music Festival and the Lamèque International Early Music Festival. Amanda has recorded for ATMA, XXI, Fidelio, Analekta, ombú, Early-Music.com, CBC radio and CBC television, BRAVO and Radio-Canada.
