A soloist, chamber musician and internationally renowned teacher, Paul Marleyn covers a vast repertoire, from Baroque to 21st century music, from Gabrielli’s Ricercar to the Romantic concerto, from Irish folklore to Metallica. He has collaborated with many artists, including Boris Berman, Martin Beaver, Miriam Fried, Joshua Bell, and Marc-André Hamelin. He studied with Robert Norris, David Strange, Laurence Lesser and Aldo Parisot. A laureate of the Royal Over-Seas League International Competition in London, he also won the highest distinctions from Yale University, and he is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in London. Paul Marleyn is Professor of Cello at the University of Ottawa. He is also President of the Agassiz Summer Chamber Music Festival in Winnipeg.
