David McGuinness

David McGuinness from Glasgow, Scotland was the youngest ever graduate of the University of York, and was awarded a PhD at the University of Glasgow for his work on 16th-century English music. He has appeared as concerto soloist with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and is the director of the baroque ensemble Concerto Caledonia, who have recorded several albums of 18th century Scottish repertoire with soloists including Catherine Bott, Chris Norman, and David Greenberg. David McGuinness is the featured piano and fortepiano soloist on the soundtrack of Mira Nair’s film Vanity Fair, is a contributor to Grove’s Dictionary of Music and Musicians, and has worked as a radio producer and presenter, composer, actor, arranger, and record producer.
