A graduate of the University of Montreal, Isabelle Desrochers went on to pursue her vocal studies in France. In 1988, she obtained a First Prize in performance with William Christie at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. She at once started on her singing career with ensembles such as La Chapelle Royale under Philippe Herreweghe and Les Arts Florissants under William Christie (her first role was in Lully's
in 1986). She has sung under such renowned conductors as Jean-Claude Malgoire, Hervé Niquet and Christophe Coin.
Having trained with Philippe Lenaël in the specialized field of rhetorical gesture, she is now able to combine singing, theatre and baroque dance, thus exploiting her stage talent to the fullest. She is a regular guest of many prestigious festivals in France and elsewhere abroad for concerts and stage productions.
