Première Moisson, in collaboration with ATMA Classique, is offering its clients "Du Baroque à la bouche," a book/CD only available at their stores. The Première Moisson chefs conceived the gastronomic content, and Francis Colpron, artistic director of the ensemble Les Boréades, conceived the musical content.
Première Moisson is a Quebec company dedicated to making and selling healthy products in keeping with the great traditions of baking, charcuterie, and pastry making. On the CD, Les Boréades perform music selected, in the 17th- and 18th-century spirit of musique de table, to harmonize with the recipes in the book.
"Harmonizing timbres, arranging motifs, pairing tempi — the choices musicians make are like those chefs make as they skillfully combine flavors and textures. Both strive to please by producing a kind of ephemeral perfection, and their art consists of striking a fine balance between variety and unity."
— Francis Colpron, Artistic Director, Les Boréades
