Heartfelt congratulations are in order for superstar tenor Marc Hervieux, whose two ATMA Classique albums A Napoli and Le Premier Noël have reached gold status!
The Canadian Recording Industry Association’s Gold Platinum Awards Program was launched in 1975 to celebrate milestone sales of music in Canada. Albums receive official gold certification when they reach 40,000 units sold nationally.
A Napoli topped the classical charts just one week after its release on September 27 and features a selection of Neapolitan popular songs arranged by Louise-Andrée Baril. These songs were made famous by legendary tenors like Caruso, di Stefano and Pavarotti.
Released in 2009, Le Premier Noël was Marc Hervieux’s first classical recording. Hervieux performs Christmas songs with the choir Les Disciples de Massenet, accompanied on the organ by Régis Rousseau.
