Marianne Fiset steps in for I Musici de Montréal

The award-winning young soprano Marianne Fiset is stepping in on short notice to replace tenor Fernando Portari for the final concert of the season by I Musici de Montréal under Yuli Turovsky. The concert takes place at Montréal’s Place des Arts on May 12, and Ms. Fiset will sing some of the most beautiful arias from Italian opera, including Puccini’s “O mio babbino caro”, arias from La Bohème, and selections from Verdi operas including Otello. Fiset made her ATMA solo recording debut earlier this year with Ophélie: Lieder et Mélodies (ACD2 2628), and has a full calendar of high-profile engagements in the coming months: in late May she appears in the Verdi Requiem with l'Orchestre symphonique de Québec under Yoav Talmi, and makes her Toronto Symphony Orchestra debut as a soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Peter Oundjian in June. She will also perform a series of six concerts with Orchestre Métropolitain in and around Montréal with Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin in July.
