JUNO Award for ATMA CD with Jane Archibald

ATMA Classique is delighted to announce that its recording Haydn Arias, with Canadian soprano Jane Archibald and l’Orchestre symphonique Bienne under Thomas Rösner, has won a 2012 JUNO Award for Classical Album of the Year: Vocal or Choral Performance. The award was handed out at a gala event in Ottawa on March 31.

The JUNO Awards are Canada's premiere music awards and encompass a week-long celebration of Canadian music. The awards are administered by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), and were established in 1971 to recognize excellence in recorded music.

Jane Archibald will perform the title role in the Canadian Opera Company’s upcoming production of Handel’s Semele, which opens on May 9, 2012.
