A Félix Award for Prima Donna!

Congratulations to ATMA Classique’s 2013 Félix prize winners soprano Karina Gauvin, together with ensemble Arion and conductor Alexander Weimann, who took the Félix in the category of Album of the Year – Classical / Vocal for Prima Donna. Accepting the award on behalf of Karina Gauvin, who is performing the title role of Gluck’s Armide with the Netherlands Opera this month, was Arion’s artistic director Claire Guimond. Prima Donna pays tribute to baroque diva Anna Maria Strada del Pò, and features Ms. Gauvin in rarities by Vinci, Vivaldi and some of the greatest Handel arie di bravura. The CD also won the 2013 JUNO Award in its category and has received critical accolades around the world, including a 10/10 from Classics Today.
