Lussier trades basson for conductor’s baton

A versatile musician with an inquiring mind, Mathieu Lussier is known for energetically and passionately promotes the bassoon as a solo instrument. Recently, Lussier was appointed assistant conductor of Les Violons du Roy, and will also guest conduct with l’Orchestre Métropolitain, Arion Baroque Orchestra and Atelier Lyrique of Opera de Montreal.

Lussier’s most recent ATMA CD features the first ever recording of the trios op 17 for bassoon, violin et cello by François Devienne.
