Isabelle Desrochers
A graduate of the University of Montreal, Isabelle Desrochers continued her vocal studies in France, graduating in 1988 with a first prize in interpretation from the class of William Christie at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. She immediately launched her career with ensembles such as La Chapelle Royale under Philippe Herreweghe and Les Arts Florissants with William Christie (she sang her first role in Lully’s Atys in 1986). She has been invited to perform with conductors such as Jean-Claude Malgoire, Hervé Niquet, and Christophe Coin. She specialized in gestural rhetoric with Philippe Lenaël, and now, through singing, theatre, and Baroque dance, she explores the full range of her stage talents. She is invited to numerous prestigious festivals both in France and abroad for concerts and stage productions.
