Jean Marchand

Jean Marchand recently completed filming Drag, directed by Sophie Dupuis. He has an extensive theatre career, with performances in Two Pianos Four Hands (American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco), Une musique inquiétante (Théâtre du Rideau Vert), The Good Person of Szechwan and Antigone (Théâtre du Nouveau Monde). Equally at ease in English and French, he has also appeared in You Will Remember Me (Centaur Theatre), Equus and Amadeus (Segal Centre).

On television, he has appeared in District 31 and La faille, and is well known for portraying M. Musique in Unité 9 and the diabolical Bulshar in SyFy’s Wynonna Earp.

His film credits include work with directors Denis Villeneuve, Denys Arcand, Léa Pool, Paolo Barzman, and Denis Côté. He has also narrated numerous works with orchestra, including performances with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, and the National Arts Centre Orchestra.

Jean also maintains an active career as a pianist and teaches chamber music and collaborative piano at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University.
