Jonathan Barriault

Graduating with high distinction from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal in 2004, Jonathan Barriault went on to complete a Master’s degree in Performance at Université Laval under Álvaro Pierri in 2006. A versatile guitarist, he has devoted much of his artistic activity to contemporary music.

He has been a member or co-founder of several ensembles, including Kore, Punctum, Ensemble 1534, and the psychedelic punk quartet Caverns, exploring a wide range of musical aesthetics from contemporary creation to amplified music. A prizewinner in numerous competitions, he was a finalist twice at the Montreal International Classical Guitar Competition.
