La Familia Figueroa

Carried by the expressive voice of tenor Antonio Figueroa, the Figueroa family forms a mariachi ensemble in which several generations unite their talents. Alongside Antonio, Anton Virquis, Esteban Duran, Tomy, José-Luis, Alexandre, and José Figueroa share both vocals and instruments — from violin to guitarrón, from guitar to trumpet — while Manuel Figueroa, on vihuela, also serves as artistic advisor.

The group’s history goes back to the family patriarch, José Figueroa, who first came to Canada as a musician during Expo 67 before settling in Montréal with his eleven children. From this meeting of cultures emerged a true family legacy, where the mariachi tradition continues to be passed down and to flourish to this day.
