Lucie Roy

Role : Director

Holding a master’s degree in conducting under the tutelage of Nicole Paiement, Lucie Roy also earned a bachelor’s degree in performance, voice, and piano from McGill University. She also holds a graduate diploma in opera from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario. For over 25 years, she has been a soloist and chorister with various professional ensembles, allowing her to work with distinguished conductors and appreciate diverse conducting styles. A choral conductor since 1996, Ms. Roy currently leads two very different choral groups: the Modulation women’s vocal ensemble, a chamber ensemble of equal voices, and, since January 2001, the Disciples de Massenet choir. In addition, Ms. Roy continues her work in music education, where she has been active for 20 years. She notably gives vocal technique workshops in the Montreal and Quebec City areas and is regularly invited to participate, as a resource person, in the training program for choir directors of the Alliance des chorales du Québec.
