Myriam Leblanc

Critics have been unanimous in their praise for soprano Myriam Leblanc. According to Christophe Huss, “she is, in the last ten years, one of the most beautiful voices—perhaps the most beautiful—to emerge from Quebec’s rich musical pool” (Samedi et rien d’autre, Radio-Canada). Holding a master’s degree in choral conducting from the Université de Sherbrooke and a diploma from McGill University, she is equally at ease in the classical, bel canto, and baroque repertoires. A laureate of numerous prizes, she has been invited as a soloist with several major orchestras, including those of Montreal, Trois-Rivières, Quebec City, Saskatoon, and the Orchestre Métropolitain.

On the operatic stage, she has shone in various productions with Opéra de Montréal (Rigoletto, Svadba, Aida), Opéra de Québec (Carmen), the Orchestre Métropolitain (Parsifal), and Jeunesses Musicales Canada (Roméo et Juliette). She has also appeared in concert with I Musici de Montréal, Ensemble Caprice, Les Violons du Roy, and Tafelmusik.

Her recent projects include roles such as Mimì in Puccini’s La Bohème with Francis Choinière and the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières, and Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with Ensemble Caprice. She has also taken part in numerous concerts, including Handel’s Messiah at Festival Classica and with Toronto’s Tafelmusik, a tour in Finland performing Vivaldi’s motet In furore iustissimae irae, and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with Les Violons du Roy.
