Pierre Rancourt
From the origins of his musical vocation in his native village of Saint-Prosper, Quebec, to the operatic stages of Montreal, by way of the shores of the Gulf of Mexico where he worked as a humanitarian musician, baritone Pierre Rancourt has always associated music with the idea of encounter, dialogue, and the affirmation of identity. This is why he is so passionate about the works of local composers, which are an expression of our identity. Winner of the 2015 Song Competition of the Association for the Dissemination of the Music of Auguste Descarries, he became interested in this composer who was unjustly excluded from the concert repertoire until very recently.
A graduate of the Atelier lyrique of the Opéra de Montréal and winner of the Canadian Music Competition, Pierre Rancourt has honed his skills through numerous internships in Canada, the United States, and Germany. He is regularly invited as a soloist or communicator by orchestras and several established ensembles, including the Opéra de Montréal, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and Clavecin en concert. He also produces his own shows where voice meets poetry and theatre.
