Philippe Gagné

, tenor

Philippe Gagné has been praised for his expressiveness, refined musical sensitivity, and vocal flexibility, as well as for the beauty and lightness of his tone quality. He embraces all periods of music, but has a predilection for the Baroque repertoire. This particulary affinity, combined with an innate talent for the music of this period, has earned him engagements in Canada, the United States, South America, and Europe. He has performed with many well-known groups, including Les Violons du Roy, Le Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal, Les Boréades, I Musici de Montréal, Le Palais Royal, Les Idées Heureuses, Ensemble Caprice, and L’Harmonie des saisons. He has worked under several acclaimed conductors and artistic directors, including Bernard Labadie, Eric Milnes, Christopher Jackson, Francis Colpron, Geneviève Soly, and Hervé Niquet. In March 2014, Philippe was among the winners at the Bruce Haynes International Competition. Philippe Gagné has been featured in two ATMA Classique recordings in 2014.
