Recognized as a brilliant, authentic and versatile musician, Jimmy Brière leads a remarkable career as a pianist, chamber musician and pedagogue.
As a guest soloist, he has appeared with numerous orchestras, including the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Orchestre symphonique de Québec, I Musici de Montréal, the Orchestra Classica of Porto, and the Pleven and Ruse Philharmonic Orchestras in Bulgaria, among others. He has also appeared in major venues across the USA, China, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria and Israel. Jimmy Brière is a regular guest of major Canadian music festivals and events, such as the Lanaudière Festival, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival and the Orford Music Festival. As a chamber musician in great demand, he has performed with renowned artists and ensembles, and joined Trio Hochelaga in 2017.
In addition to winning top honours at numerous international piano competitions, Jimmy Brière has released two albums, one as a soloist and the other as a chamber musician. He is a graduate of the Université de Montréal, where he is currently Associate Professor of Piano, and of Indiana University and the Glenn Gould School in Toronto.
