Two CDs, 27 tracks of splendid improvisations in a myriad of styles and genres on the timeless theme of Christmas. But what is improvisation? It is first and foremost about speaking a musical language, in an educated spontaneity; an ever-new and wondrous sonic adventure, which, depending on the circumstances, depicts the states of mind of a moment that will never return. The purpose of this double CD is to showcase the new organ of the Abbey of Saint-Benoît-du-Lac, made in 1998-99 by the organ builder Karl Wilhelm of Mont Saint-Hilaire (Quebec). But above all, it is dedicated to all those whose childlike heart can still vibrate with the joy and magic of Christmas.
