This season, Beatrice Rana makes her debut with several orchestras, including the Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia, the Südwestdeutsche Orchester, and the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra in Denmark. She will then be a guest of the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, the Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg Symphony Orchestras, the Kuala Lumpur Philharmonic Orchestra, Les Violons du Roy, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal. In June 2011, at the age of 18, Beatrice Rana won First Prize at the Montreal International Music Competition, becoming one of the youngest laureates. “Not just a pianist, but above all an artist,” wrote Le Devoir at the time about Beatrice Rana, who, in addition to this First Prize, was awarded all the special prizes. Her first solo album on ATMA is dedicated to Chopin’s Preludes op. 28 and Scriabin’s Sonata no. 2 op. 19, an exciting repertoire for this exceptional pianist.
