Description
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of Les Violons du Roy, ATMA Classique presents a sampler disc comprising some of the most beautiful recordings made during the long and fruitful collaboration between the orchestra and the ATMA record label featuring music by Gluck, Bach, Pachelbel, Rameau, Mozart, Bartók, Piazzolla, and Britten.
The selection includes a hitherto unreleased recording, made in 2008 under the direction of Jean-Marie Zeitouni, of Arvo Pärt’s Fratres. The orchestra’s other conductors on this compilation are Bernard Labadie and Mathieu Lussier. Canadian singers Karina Gauvin and Daniel Taylor, and Italian pianist Benedetto Lupo are also featured on this anniversary CD.
