Description
This recording presents a repertoire of songs whose poetry and music are the work of troubadours and trouvères who lived in 12th and 13th-century France. This repertoire represents the earliest written records of songs in the vernacular during the Middle Ages. The Ensemble Constantinople, with its richly colored instrumentation, returns, featuring the renowned soprano Anne Azéma, a specialist in medieval repertoire.
