The Montreal wind quintet and mezzo-soprano Noëlla Huet bring to life works inspired by melodies and texts from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the late 18th century. Featuring orchestrations of ancient melodies, contemporary harmonizations of folk dances, and modern music evoking the atmosphere of medieval music, this album is a collection of airs in the old style, composed or arranged by 20th-century composers.
