Originally released in 1995 under the title Le Chant de la Jérusalem des terres froides, the album Musique sacrée en Nouvelle-France, now published by ATMA, bears witness to musical life during the French colonial period in America. It depicts a time in history when sacred music of European tradition flourished, providing a rich rhythm to the daily and seasonal activities of the inhabitants, much like the music of France at the same time.
