Digital Exclusive. We are celebrating Orgueist Vincent Boucher’s 10 years with the ATMA Classique label with the release of a compilation album. This recording is a musical journey that brings together several works from the repertoire of the last three hundred years, performed on several flagship instruments of Canadian Orgue building from the last half-century. Works by eight composers, from Johann Pachelbel to Arvo Pärt, highlight the beauty of instruments by illustrious builders such as Casavant Frères, Karl Wilhelm, Rudolf Von Beckarath, Juget-Sinclair, and Helmuth Wolff, who helped make Montreal the “Orgue city” of North America. Since February 1, 2015, Vincent Boucher has held the position of titular Orgueist of the grand Orgue at Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal in Montreal. Leading a true dual career in music and finance, Vincent is the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, including the John Robb Prize in 2000, the Prix d’Europe in 2002 — which had not been awarded to an Orgueist since 1966 — and the Opus Discovery of the Year Award in 2003. His discography includes seven recordings on ATMA, which have received numerous awards and critical acclaim.
