Description
Following the remarkable success of Requiem, winner of the 2025 Félix Award for Classical Album of the Year, composer François Dompierre, conductor Francis Choinière, and the Orchestre FILMharmonique reunite for an ambitious new project: Les Quatre Saisons du Québec.
Part of a long tradition of musical works inspired by the seasons, this original composition draws on the landscapes, colours, and musical traditions that shape Québec’s identity. Conceived as a tribute to the province’s rich cultural heritage, it celebrates the folk, Acadian, Irish, and North American influences that have helped define Québec’s unique character and collective history.
“In the same way that Piazzolla reimagined Vivaldi’s work through the sounds of tango, I chose to honour my Québec heritage by celebrating our traditional dances and folk songs.” — François Dompierre
